Blog Article Advocates For Blockchain In Governance At FICCI MTech 2018

The inaugural edition of the Maharashtra Technology Summit 2018 witnessed an incredibly progressive wisdom from visionary entrepreneurs and bureaucrats in the country.

The Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis who inaugurated the event welcomed the inventive Blockchain  as he expressed his optimism in the technology, “It is going to change the entire space of governance”

A panel discussion titled – “ Blockchain and Governance’ brought together the leading lights of different industries – the hour-long discussion at the Hotel Trident, Mumbai was enveloped by the cutting edge possibilities that can benefit the governance in our country.

Mr. Prasanna Lohar, DMD & CIO at DCB Bank elucidated hope as he envisioned Blockchain to impact a structured approach and bring in the much-needed innovation in governance.

For the uninitiated, Blockchain technology helps protect and process data in an impenetrably secure and transparent manner. The technology is being globally fancied to take over the essence of Internet-based processes/governance owing to its compellingly secure features.

Having developed Smart Contracts and Stamp Duty processes for various government agencies, Founder, CEO of, Mr. Krupesh Bhat identified the lawful essentials required for the comprehensive adoption of the technology in public services.

The technology is being pursued by to securely digitize the Stamp Duty payment process in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Also, the company is striving to further simplify and secure its online legal services through the generation-defining technology.

Another panellist, Ms. Latha Ayyar. Special Representative for Innovation & Information Technology for the Andhra govt.reiterated the essence of Blockchain in public services when she explained how the technology will be used to govern land, vehicle and pension records, school and sports certificates etc.

The erudite discussion also involved Mr. Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, CIO at SBI, Kaustubh Dhavse, Officer on Special Duty to the Honourable C.M of Maharashtra, Mr. Suhas Gopinath, CEO, Globals Inc., Avneesh Pandey, G.M at SEBI, James, Koo President, Guardtime, Singapore and Ms. Latha Ayyar, special representative from the Andhra government.

Mr. Devendra Fadnavis also emphasized for the bureaucrats, policymakers, entrepreneurs and researchers at the event to deliberate the significance of Blockchain technology in their public lives.
